Un espacio para el debate de los gais
En la sede de Silueta X. Ahí se reúnen miembros de la comunidad GLBTI.
La luz del foco incandescente dibuja sus siluetas en el piso. Casi no hay espacio. Un ventilador rechinante aplaca la calurosa noche invernal. Son las 18:30 y las paredes color melón de la estrecha sala en la casa 325, cerca a la Zona Rosa, están empapeladas de color.
Hay fotos del desfile del Orgullo Gay 2012 y afiches contra la homofobia. Ahí funciona Silueta X, asociación de 1 200 miembros que abre espacios de reunión para las comunidades de gais, lesbianas, bisexuales y transexuales en Guayaquil. El derecho a la igualdad, a la educación, a la salud y a la no discriminación son algunos de los temas que ahí se debaten.
Cada jueves es turno de los gais y bisexuales. «Homosexual: ¿se nace o se hace?». Jasiel inquiere con una voz sutil que resuena desde el portal. El oído la esboza como una mujer joven, sexi. La mirada la escudriña un poco más: tiene rasgos finos, delgada figura, gestos estilizados… pero es hombre. Jasiel preside la reunión.
El texto que lee detrás de un escritorio lo bajó de Internet. Es el relato de un biólogo que plantea el posible origen de la homosexualidad. Desde la genética tomaron parte del libro ‘El gen egoísta’, en el que Richard Dawkins habla sobre la teoría de la evolución. Desde la mirada social debatieron ‘No está en los genes’, otro libro que desnuda a la ciencia y afirma que la desigualdad no está en el código genético.
Desde sus asientos, unos 20 jóvenes escuchan atentos; se preparan para compartir ideas. En su mayoría no pasan de 19 años. Algunos llevan flequillos largos que ocultan parte de su rostro. Otros usan ‘pearcings’ y bermudas cortas. Elvis cree que se nace gay. «Está en las hormonas. Es comprobado que los gais tenemos más hormonas femeninas que masculinas». El ‘chino’ cree que se hace. «Antes era hetero (heterosexual), anduve con chicas.
Pero descubrí que al estar con un hombre me siento plenamente feliz». Para Kevin es una mezcla de ambos. «A algunos desde niños se les nota la inclinación a ser gais. Otros lo manifiestan en la adolescencia, por una experiencia sexual». Es el turno de André, de 19 años. Sus lentes redondeados le dan un ‘look’ intelectual. Él aportó otros datos para quitarle la etiqueta de patología a la homosexualidad. André es católico practicante. A la reunión del jueves llegó con un libro de oraciones, aún con la foto de Benedicto XVI.
Hace cuatro años supo que era gay y el lunes, en un confesionario, se lo relevó a un sacerdote. «Me envió al sicólogo», contó. Al principio, confiesa, le molestó. Luego le causó risa. En 1974 la Asociación Estadounidense de Psiquiatría sacó a la homosexualidad de la lista de las enfermedades mentales. En 1990, la Organización Mundial de la Salud lo ratificó. Para no apartarse de la Iglesia, André hizo un voto de celibato gay. «Para mi religión es un pecado que tenga una relación sexual gay. Pero no me impide tener una vida social gay.
Dios nos quiere tal y como somos». Su testimonio no elevó humo blanco: «¡es imposible!», «mira la crisis católica por la pedofilia», «¿cómo serás gay sin tener sexo con hombres?».
Por ahí alguien hasta mencionó al pastor Nelson Zavala y su discurso contra los GLBTI. Y el tweet de apoyo que recibió Diane Rodríguez el 19 de marzo de @MashiRafael:
«Estimada Diane: solo quería decirle que la admiro y respeto profundamente, aunque no comparta todos sus postulados», le escribió el Presidente Rafael Correa.
Diane dirige Silueta X. Es activista transfeminista y cree que de estas reuniones saldrán propuestas sólidas contra la discriminación por orientación sexual. «Son espacios de diálogo.
Aquí aprendemos a respetarnos, a conocernos, para luego hacernos respetar». Detrás de ella resalta un afiche peculiar. Son dos tasas de café sobre un tapete. Ambas tienen huellas de labial rojo. ‘Dos iguales también hacen pareja’.
Es el mensaje de una campaña contra el rechazo por orientación sexual. Las metas El grupo gay de Silueta X apoya la campaña Mi género en mi cédula, que promueve una reforma a la Ley de Registro Civil a favor de la comunidad transexual y que está en la Asamblea Nacional.
En las redes sociales circulan algunos videos de chicas ‘trans’ como por ejemplo el de Ana Carolina. Ella estuvo en la cárcel, donde fue ultrajada y violada. Por eso pide el cambio de sexo en su cédula.
‘Tenemos que aprender a hacernos respetar del resto de personas, cualquiera que sea su dogma’.
