Dialogo con Diane Rodriguez

La firme convicción de luchar por los derechos, de ser lo que quiere ser y romper con los dogmas que no han sido impuesto como verdad absoluta, hacen de Diane Rodriguez Zambrano un ejemplo a seguir. De 30 años, trans femenina, estudiante de psicología, activista y presidenta de la fundación Silueta X de Guayaquil, fue la primera mujer trans en postular para un cargo de elección popular, no solo el Ecuador, sino en latinoamerica, como ella mismo lo cuenta. En las elecciones del 17 de febrero, Diane no logró reunir los votos necesarios para el escaño legislativo, sin embargo dejó posisionado el tema de orientación sexual e identidad de género. Equidad Revista LGBTI Ecuador conversó con ella para que nos cuente acerca de su candidatura a la Asamblea, y la lucha por la reivindicación de los derechos a la poblaciones GLBTI.

¿Por qué la candidata con Ruptura 25? Cuéntanos ese proceso que te hace incursionar en la política.E

En la Universidad de Guayaquil, un día me encontre con María Paula Romo y Francisco Jiménez recolectando firmas para la legalización de movimiento Ruptura 25. Me acuerdo que era Enero del 2012; conversé poco con María Paula y junto a un activista Gay, me invitaron a las reuniones. Yo acepté por mi compañero gay, no estaba tan interesada, honestamente. Ya en la reunión me quede enamorada del movimiento y empecé a militar con ellos. En Octubre del 2012 mis compañeros decidieron postularme, y a pesar de que no gané, soy la primera candidata transexual a nivel latinoamericano en postular a un cargo de la legislatura.

A parte del apoyo oficial de Ruptura ¿Qué otros apoyos recibiste?

Recibí mucho apoyo. Hay muchos spots publicitarios que son parte de la diversidad sexual que me apoyaron, especialmente en Guayaquil. Los colegas de Guayaquil fueron los que me apoyaron, Oscar Ugarte me ayudó a conseguir recursos para volantes, impresiones, vídeos y demás.

Después de ésta experiencia que has tenido con la política, ¿Como analizas la nueva conformación de la Asamblea Nacional?

Con la nueva Asamblea, que tiene como mayoría a Alianza País, un movimiento de izquierda, quizá podríamos tener la hipótesis de que se protegerá; pero podemos analizar también los perfiles de muchos y lamentablemente , de los que han ganado la contienda política, muchos son próvida o se han manifestado a favor de los movimientos próvida.

¿Cómo miras la discriminación que sufre la comunidad LGBTI?

Las personas Trans feministas y  trans masculinos somos, incluso, los más discriminados dentro de la misma diversidad sexual. Un hombre gay, por ejemplo, si va a buscar empleo, él sabrá si exterioriza su orientación sexual o no , pero obviamente va a tener oportunidades de ganarse ese puesto laboral frente a las personas trans femeninas, en mi caso, y trans masculinos. Nosotras no tenemos esa oportunidad y somos rechazadas de inmediato.

¿En el proceso de reivindicación de sus derechos hubo apoyo por parte de alguna Organización política?

Nosotros no le debemos a nada a nadie, ni a ningún político. Si hay inclusión a través de algunos articulados, es porque estuvimos, los grupos activistas, ahí en Montecristi. No fue por la condescendencia o la voluntad de un buen corazón de algún político.

¿Cómo te ves en un futuro?

Como una persona que ha contribuido con el desarrollo de la sociedad LGBTI. Aspiro trascender en el tiempo, necesito que la gente de las próximas generaciones conozca lo que hemos sufrido, conozca como hemos luchado por seguir nuestros derechos. Mi aspiración ha sido siempre posicionar el tema LGBTI. Y lo lograré; gracias a todo esto se ha levantado una cuestión madiática.

¿En dónde termina tu trabajo?

Mi trabajo continúa; no hay una orden de descansar. Mi trabajo no termina con la política. Como he dicho en reiteradas ocasiones: así yo sea Asambleísta, si tengo que irme a parar a la Plaza de San Francisco o en la Plaza Foch, a gritar con carteles, lo voy hacer, porque yo soy una activista. No voy a renegar jamas de donde he venido, de donde soy, ni a mis colegas, ni a mis compañeros de lucha, soy una activista, siempre seré y moriré siendo activista.

Why Breaking the candidate with 25? Tell us the process that makes you go into politics.

At the University of Guayaquil, one day I met Maria Paula Romo and Francisco Jimenez collecting signatures to legalize 25 Rupture movement. I remember it was January 2012, she came to me and asked for a signature. recently spoke with Mary Paula and she invited me to meetings. I agreed mouth, not in heart, I was not so interested, honestly. Since the meeting I stay in love with the military and started moving with them. In October 2012 my companions decided postularme, and even though I did not win, I’m the first transgender candidate to run for Latin America in a charge of the legislature.

A part of the official support Rupture What other support received?

I received a lot of support. There are many commercials that are part of sexual diversity who supported me, especially in Guayaquil. Guayaquil’s colleagues were those who supported me, Oscar Ugarte helped me get resources for flyers, prints, videos and other.

After this experience I’ve had with politics, how you analyze the new composition of the National Assembly?

With the new Assembly, whose majority Alianza País, a leftist movement, perhaps we could have hypothesized to be protected, but can also analyze profiles and unfortunately many of which have won the political contest, many are provident or have spoken in favor of provident movements.

Obviously we are dealing with an internal problem of the same movement, possibly this could affect the legislative structure.

How do you look at the discrimination faced by the LGBT community?

Trans people are male feminists and trans even the most discriminated within the same sexual diversity. A gay man, for example, whether to seek employment, he will know if externalized sexual orientation or not, but obviously will have opportunities to earn that job position against female trans people, in my case, and trans men. We do not have that opportunity and are immediately rejected.

Does the process of claiming their rights had support from any political organization?

We do not owe anything to anyone, or any politician. If inclusion through some articulated, is because we were, activists, there in Montecristi. It was no condescension or will a good heart a politician.

How do you see yourself in the future?

As a person who has contributed to the development of LGBTI society. I aspire to transcend time, need people of future generations know what we have suffered, know as we struggled to keep our rights. My work continues, there is an order to rest. My work does not end with the policy. As I have said repeatedly. My work does not end with the policy.
