GLBTI denuncia a juez por citar Biblia.

Una vez que el juez primero de lo Civil de Guayas, Ricardo Rivadeneira, negara el recurso de protección que interpuso Diane Rodríguez, un transexual guayaquileño que se identifica como mujer, contra el Registro Civil, este indicó ayer que apelará la resolución e iniciará acciones legales en su contra.

El Registro Civil del Guayas negó la solicitud de Rodríguez para cambiar su género de ‘Masculino’ a ‘Femenino’ en la cédula de identidad.

Mónica Valarezo, defensora de Rodríguez, dice que el fallo carece de argumentos válidos ya que “el juez ha citado varios versículos de la Biblia y cualquier abogado puede dar fe de que eso, en materia legal, no tiene nada que ver en lo absoluto porque es parte de la subjetividad de cada quien… Creencias, dogmas y ese tipo de cosas no entran en materia legal”.

Giovanny Jaramillo, representante del Comité Ecuatoriano Permanente de los Derechos Humanos (Cepdhu), indicó que esta organización enviará cartas a la Vicepresidencia de la República, Asamblea Nacional, Corte Nacional de Justicia y al Consejo de la Judicatura para que se conozca sobre el tema.

Agregó que se interpondrá una queja contra el director del Registro Civil del Guayas y el juez primero de lo Civil.

“No puede ser que no se permita cambiar el sexo de la cédula de Diane, cuando sí se cambió su nombre. Más aún porque en el 2009 un hombre pudo tramitar un cambio de género en el Registro Civil de Pichincha”, explicó Jaramillo.

La defensora de Rodríguez recordó que la Constitución vigente reconoce y garantiza a las personas “el derecho al libre desarrollo de la personalidad, sin más limitaciones que los derechos de los demás”.
