“Fernando, ¿te casarías conmigo?”.

Pareja de jóvenes homosexuales  desea unirse en matrimonio igualitario. Santiago Vinces y Fernando Saltos, de 21 y 20 años,  sacaron turno en el Registro Civil para casarse. El acto se dio en medio de  testigos, padrinos  y personajes  de la farándula que elegantemente vestidos gritaban: “¡Que vivan los novios!”, solo faltó el tradicional arroz que se lanza a los contrayentes, pero nadie se acordó de llevarlo.
Este singular acto ocurrió  ayer,  a las 10:30, en las instalaciones de la fundación Vihda, en Luis Urdaneta y Córdova, allí se decoró un salón con los colores del arco iris, donde miembros de la comunidad Glbti (Gays, lesbianas, trans e intersexuales) esperaban con pancartas y pitos la llegada de los chicos que darían un paso muy importante, sacar turno en el Registro Civil, para posteriormente contraer nupcias.  Esta es la segunda pareja que lo intenta, comentaron los activistas como Óscar Ugarte. “El artículo 11 de la Constitución dice que todos somos iguales ante la Ley. El matrimonio civil igualitario es un derecho que no debemos renunciar”, dijo.

AGARRADOS DE LA MANO
Los novios aparecieron en el salón agarrados de las manos. Luego de sentarse y saludar a los presentes,  Santiago Vinces se metió la mano en uno de los bolsillos de su pantalón y sacó una pequeña cajita roja. Luego se paró y miró fijamente a Fernando a quien le preguntó nervioso: “¿Fernando, mi amor, te quieres casar conmigo?”.
– Claro que sí, mi amor, contestó Fernando, a quien le brillaron los ojos azules cuando recibió la simbólica joya en su dedo anular derecho. Las palabras sobraron y  la pareja unió sus labios con un beso que terminó en un fuerte abrazo. Todo fue captado por las cámaras y celulares de los presentes.
Santiago y Fernando son guayaquileños, dedicados a la fotografía y se conocen desde hace dos años, pero en la actualidad viven juntos, solo esperan unir sus vidas mediante el matrimonio igualitario, lo cual creen que es un derecho de todos.
“Esto es un tema de igualdad de derechos humanos, recordemos que tenemos una Constitución en la que dice que todos los ciudadanos y ciudadanas tenemos los mismos derechos y esperamos que se cumplan”, señaló Vinces.

EN EL REGISTRO CIVIL
Luego la pareja, invitados y activistas de la comunidad salieron en caminata con dirección al Registro Civil, en 9 de Octubre, entre Pedro Carbo y Pichincha, donde fueron atendidos por el personal.
Santiago entregó la respectiva solicitud y documentación para sacar el  turno. “Ellos han presentado todos los requisitos que indica la ley para el matrimonio. Nos dijeron que en ocho días dan la respuesta sobre el turno.  Sí ha habido apertura, esto es muy positivo. Nos dejaron entrar a todos”, dijo Silvia Buendía, activista y abogada de la red Diversidad del Matrimonio Civil Igualitario.

Los invitados
Entre los testigos y padrinos de la pareja estuvieron presentes las actrices Érika Vélez, Rudy Arana,  Diane Rodríguez, de la fundación Silueta X, Doménica Menessini, quien participó en Baila la noche, de canal Uno, entre otros.
Pero también estuvo la progenitora de Santiago, quien solo se tomó fotos sin dar opiniones.
Algunas personas del público que se encontraba en la entidad se mostraron sorprendidas con la pareja de jóvenes, pero otras aprovecharon el momento para tomarse fotos con los novios y con los famosos.

Young gay couple want to join in marriage equality. Santiago Vinces  and Fernando Jumps 21 and 20 years, took turns in the Registry to marry.
