El Presidente y los LGBTI.

Luego de la reunión del Presidente el 13 de diciembre de 2013 con 8 personas del colectivo LGBTI, en Guayaquil, ha reiterado su compromiso por defender los derechos de la población lésbica, homosexual, bisexual, transgénero e intersexual. Ha dicho que es la primera vez que un Presidente se reúne con representantes de la comunidad. Nada es gratuito.

El Mandatario se ha comprometido a establecer una comisión que siga la pista de varios asesinatos cometidos contra miembros del colectivo (hay quince contra personas transexuales). Otra acción se orienta a la revisión de leyes enviadas a la Asamblea en torno a la salud, educación y empleo. ¿Cuántas personas sexualmente diversas han sido y son discriminadas en sus lugares de trabajo y a cuántas se les ha negado un lugar?
Hay más en este compromiso presidencial: promover mediáticamente los derechos de la diversidad sexual y formar a servidores públicos en el tema. Otra en la lista: garantizar derechos constitucionales como el IESS, que no registra parejas del mismo sexo, o el Registro civil que hace lo mismo con las uniones de hecho.

Muchos notarios se niegan a cumplir la Ley. El tema de identidad de género, en el marco de las reformas a la Ley del Registro Civil y que los asambleístas han dejado de discutir. Habría que preguntarles por qué: ¿Homofobia? ¿Cálculos políticos? ¿No les interesa?
De concretarse estos acuerdos, el colectivo (representado esta vez por Diane Rodríguez) se fortalecería para acceder a más conquistas. Sobre los despachos del presidente Correa, de ministras, ministros y otras autoridades debe estar esta agenda prioritaria. Le tomamos la palabra, señor Presidente.
