«Sweet and Coffee» involucrado en caso de discriminación a GLBTI.

«Por haberse vestido de mujer» la empresa «Sweet and Coffee» despidió intempestivamente a Juan Hernán García y Jefferson Bustamante Erazo (Zully y Briana, respectivamente según su identidad de género), así lo dijeron en una  rueda de prensa el día de ayer junto al colectivo de Defensa a los derechos GLBTI, Silueta X. «Sweet and Coffee» con anterioridad presentó su defensa, aludiendo que: «La decisión de terminación de las relaciones laborales se da exclusivamente por aspectos propios internos de la empresa y serán reconocidos todos los beneficios correspondientes dictados por la ley».

Las reacciones en las redes sociales no se hicieron esperar, imágenes y cuentas que rechazan la postura de la cadena cafetera.

La rueda de prensa se realizó en la Defensoría del Pueblo de Guayaquil, a pesar de que el incidente ocurrió en la capital, debido a que la matriz principal de la empresa implicada se encuentra en esta ciudad. Quienes tomaron la palabra fueron Diane Rodríguez presidenta de Silueta X y las dos afectadas. Al iniciar, Diane explicó el caso y dio paso al video que Zully había grabado como prueba de la discriminación a causa de su «identidad de género», como lo mencionaron. A diferencia de Zully, Brianna no posee las pruebas respectivas para presentar legalmente su caso.

Ambas se presentaron juntas a la fiesta, con el traje formal como requería la ocasión, pero como se ve en el video, fueron detenidas en la puerta por las Gerentes de Campo, Francisca Tinizaray y Belén Almachi. Según testimonio de las afectadas: «nos dijeron que la forma en que nos presentábamos era una falta de respeto para ellos». A pesar de todo, ellas se hicieron presentes al siguiente día laborable pero Zully fue despedida verbalmente en ese momento, por un compañero de trabajo que decía ser portavoz del Gerente.  Además se mencionó que ambas fueron excluidas de un bono navideño que entregaba la empresa a todos sus empleados.

Tras la difusión de este video, la empresa vinculada a este hecho, emitió un comunicado en el que se desconocen las opiniones registradas y se anuncia el inicio de investigaciones.

De las tres presentes sólo la presidenta de Silueta X mencionó haber sido víctima de discriminación con anterioridad en el Hotel Oro Verde, pero no  dio más detalles del caso.

Según datos del Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas y Censos (INEC): «Del total de la población GLBTI entrevistada, el 70,9% reportó que vivió alguna experiencia de discriminación, de los cuales el 72,1% sufrió algún tipo de experiencia de control, el 74,1% experimentó algún tipo de imposición, el 65,9% sufrió rechazo y el 61,4% violencia»

Zully se encuentra en el proceso legal de demanda en defensa de sus derechos con el respaldo de Silueta X.

Zully is in the legal process demand in defense of their rights supported by Silueta X.
