Cadena de cafetería Sweet and Coffee se disculpa por video y dice que habrá sanciones.
La empresa Dulcafé S.A. Sweet and Coffee se disculpó por el incidente ocurrido entre los extrabajadores Juan García y Jefferson Bustamante, y una representante de la cafetería en Quito, en un reciente comunicado publicado en la red social Twitter.
La cadena de cafetería menciona que investigará un presunto acto de discriminación contra los extrabajadores, el pasado 27 de diciembre, cuando asistieron a la cena de Navidad organizado por la compañía usando vestimenta de mujer, motivo por el cual se les había impedido ingresar.
El aviso añade además que la funcionaria será sancionada por su proceder y que la empresa «no comparte la forma en que fue manejada la situación».
La noche de ayer, la compañía informó que los empleados (García y Bustamante) habían sido despedidos por razones «estrictamente laborales por reiterados incumplimientos, respaldados en llamados de atención por escrito». Negó además discriminación.
Mientras, la organización Silueta X, defensora de los derechos GLBTI, a la que acudieron los perjudicados, colgó hoy un video en su cuenta de YouTube que serían los momentos en los que fue impedido de ingresar García a la fiesta que se desarrolló en el Círculo Militar, en Quito, y al trabajo.
El video generó diversas reacciones en redes sociales, tanto a favor y en contra; incluso hubo quienes convocaron a un boicot contra la cafetería.
El colectivo tenía previsto presentar durante el día la respectiva demanda a la Defensoría del Pueblo.
