Transexuales finiquitaron labores con Sweet & Coffee.

Esta tarde, en la Inspectoría del Ministerio de Relaciones Laborales se llevó a cabo el acta de finiquito con el cual cesaron las funciones de Zully García y Brianna Bustamante (Juan y Jefferson), dos transgéneros que fueron despedidas de la empresa Sweet & Coffee.

Ambas cumplían diferentes funciones en la cafetería y trabajaron en el establecimiento sin revelar su identidad biológica. No obstante, fueron despedidas luego de que ellas se presentaron vestidas de mujer en la fiesta de fin de año de la empresa, en donde se les negó la entrada.

El 28 de diciembre, la jefe de recursos humanos las llamó para indicarle que estaban despedidas por «haberse vestido de mujer». El caso fue denunciado a la Defensoría del Pueblo.

La diligencia de García se desarrolló a las 17:00, mientras que la de Brianna, a las 18:00. Las mujeres llegaron al Ministerio en compañía de su abogado Ricardo Pavón. Luego de la firma de finiquito, las exempleadas señalaron que la liquidación se realizó sin ningún inconveniente.

Las mujeres señalaron que decidieron hacer pública este hecho de discriminación para que otras personas se animen a denunciar este tipo de actos discriminativos. “No podemos permitir que se nos excluya de nuestros puestos solo por tener otra opción sexual”, dijo García.

Diane Rodríguez, activista GLBT y presidenta de la asociación Silueta X, acompañó a las demandantes. “Nosotros ya hemos presentado la denuncia y con esto queremos dejar un precedente de que no se vulneren nuestros derechos. Queremos justicia con esta empresa que ha sido discriminatoria con la identidad de género”, dijo Rodríguez.
