Reinoso: “Si interpreto a un gay, tengo que hacerlo como gay”.

¿Cuál es su reacción ante el anuncio de grupos GLBTI que quieren formular una queja contra programas que Ud. dirige y otros en donde este colectivo dice sentirse discriminado?

De asombro, porque en los personajes jamás hemos tratado de discriminar, no es nuestra filosofía; me parece un poquito exagerado.

¿Por qué exagerado?

Es como que se vuelven intocables; sería bueno que digan en qué punto y en qué forma es ofensivo, y si se pueden hacer correctivos, encantado de hacerlos; pero de allí a intentar sacar un programa del aire me parece un poco radical, extremista y no me parece justo porque hay libertad también para las personas que consumen nuestros productos.

En el supuesto caso de que se presente esta queja legal, ¿qué acción tomaría usted?

Es que no sabemos hasta qué punto hay una cuestión legal. De lo que he visto de la Constitución y de la Ley de Comunicación y su reglamento, no estamos infringiendo en nada y tampoco el contenido implica el cierre del programa, la ley no pide quitar sino correcciones. Si hay un punto en que se sientan ofendidos, aunque no hemos sentido eso en la mayoría de las personas, si toca hacer correctivos, pues encantado; pero también tenemos todo el derecho de defender nuestro trabajo.

¿Usted cree que amerita una mediación o diálogo para buscar en ambos lados un acuerdo y evitar este tipo de situaciones?

Claro. Eso sí, me parece bien. Nosotros estamos abiertos al diálogo para saber qué les ofende de nuestro trabajo, dónde se ofende, en qué momento se ofende, en este caso a los GLBTI. Pero si tengo que interpretar el rol de un gay, tengo que hacerlo como gay, no lo puedo hacer como hombre o mujer, es gay. Que me digan entonces hasta qué punto puedo llegar.

Aseguran que el contenido de ciertos programas es discriminatorio, incluso para grupos afroecuatorianos…

Tengo en mi equipo de libretistas y creativos una persona que es gay y él no se siente afectado o aludido por algún programa. Además he tenido compañeros afroecuatorianos que han trabajado conmigo; si fuera racista los hubiera botado.

¿No tiene asidero la queja?

La organización Silueta X es la que está quejándose. No he sabido de algún grupo de afros, montubios, ni de indígenas que se esté quejando; es una persona que habla por todos y no representa a nada, es dirigido por un joven que se llama Diane Rodríguez, que fue candidato a asambleísta y no ganó.

¿Cómo interpreta la iniciativa, entonces?

Yo creo que hay un trasfondo político y de campaña previa por coger más fuerza. Es un candidato que perdió las elecciones y tal vez dijo ‘mis colegas van a votar por mí’. Yo también he conversado con gente gay y trans y los admiro mucho y ellos conocen a este chico que es problemático, que quiere buscar notoriedad.

Why do I exaggerate?

It’s like they become untouchable ; would be nice to say at what point and in what manner is offensive , and if you can make corrections , make them happy; but then to try to get a program air seems a bit radical, extremist and does not seem right because there is freedom also for people who use our products.

In the unlikely event that this legal complaint is filed, what action would you take ?

We do not know to what extent there is a legal issue. From what I ‘ve seen of the Constitution and the Communications Act and its regulations , we are not infringing on anything and neither the content involves the closure of the program, the law does not take calls but corrections. If there is a point where you feel offended, but we have not felt that in most people, if you play make corrections, as happy; but we also have every right to defend our work.

Do you think that deserves a mediation or dialogue to seek an agreement on both sides to avoid such situations ?

Clear. Yes, that’s fine. We are open to dialogue to know what offends them of our work, where is offended, offended at what point, in this case the GLBTI. But if I have to play the role of a gay, I have to do as gay, I can not do as a man or woman is gay. I then say how far I can go.
