CARTA ABIERTA A LA MADRE DEL PRESIDENTE DE LA REPÚBLICA DEL ECUADOR.

Virtualmente presente.-

Norma, me dirijo en primera persona y sin eufemismos con el afán de entablar con usted una aproximación horizontal, en la que no tiene cabida la diferencia generacional, regional, de credo ni cualquier otra. Le escribo para convocarla a la lucha feminista ecuatoriana, una plataforma que persigue la transformación social desde la suma de consciencias incluyentes; no desde la resta.

Sería atentatorio contra sus derechos de culto el decirle que estoy aquí para tolerar su catolicismo y su ideología conservadora. Como ciudadana es mi deber respetar la Constitución del Ecuador y observar que, en tanto Estado Laico, mal puedo desear imponer mi proceder ateo y alternativo sobre su manera de vivir.

Es preciso que le comente que durante doce años de mi vida estudié en un colegio del Opus Dei, en la ciudad de Quito; por lo tanto de primera mano me consta el contingente de lavados de cerebro que se promulgan en las instituciones religiosas regentadas por la Iglesia Católica de extrema derecha en el Ecuador.

Dicho esto, procedo a comentarle el objetivo concreto de mi carta: Norma, le invito cordialmente a convertirse en feminista, a sumarse a la lucha en favor de las mujeres y a cuestionar la legitimidad de los paradigmas que históricamente -y hoy más que nunca- impregnan en nuestro país una huella de resta y de exclusión social.

Norma, el feminismo contemporáneo jamás la podría excluir por su credo católico, por sus años de edad, por no haber nacido en la capital; por el contrario la acogería en sus círculos de manifestación por el simple hecho de ser un ser humano.

Se preguntará por qué acudo a usted como una estrategia de posicionar mi lucha feminista. Lo hago en vista de que siendo usted la madre del Presidente del Ecuador sería, ante los hechos contundentes y demostrables, la única voz que su hijo escucha. Con profundo dolor estamos siendo testigas y testigos las/los ecuatorianas/os de que la política pública en materia de derechos de las mujeres, de los pueblos no contactados y de la naturaleza; su hijo Rafael procede haciendo caso omiso a los artículos de la Constitución y anteponiendo su ideología personal sobre la voluntad de un pueblo al que se debe.

Norma, le invito respetuosamente a recordar que el laicismo en el Ecuador actual lo heredamos de su ancestro Eloy Alfaro Delgado, a quien le costó ser arrastrado por defender sus ideales. Ese es mi punto preciso de convocatoria, llamarla a metafóricamente a dejar la piel a la hora de ser crítica con toda política, paradigma, ley o plataforma que ponga en riesgo la vida digna y la soberanía del cuerpo de las mujeres de su familia y las del país entero. Con el corazón en la mano y en nombre de la madre que soy, jamás desearía que su familia sea dañada de manera alguna; por el contrario le deseo prosperidad en todo sentido.

Norma, esa prosperidad no le es posible alcanzar a cientos de miles de mujeres ecuatorianas que tienen la edad de su hija, de sus nueras, de sus nietas. En este país ojala viviéramos en infinito amor y en corazones ardientes; lo cierto es que padecemos malestares sociales infrahumanos que producen la muerte de niñas de la edad de sus nietas, a causa de abortos clandestinos que han sido producto de embarazos provocados por violación, casi siempre perpetrado por un familiar cercano. Estimada amiga, no hay manera de que un espíritu que cree en el amor incondicional al prójimo, como el suyo; pudiese aceptar que las mujeres que llevan su sangre sean madres de un ser humano que ha sido engendrado como resultado de la depredación del cuerpo de ese ser amado, utilizado como objeto de desecho.

Objeto de desecho, así mismo, se está considerando hoy por hoy a los territorios intangibles ecuatorianos. Más de una vez Norma, debe haber compartido humanamente experiencias con mujeres de quintiles sociales de escala inferior a la suya; esta tarde, he visto a decenas de ellas llegar a Quito después de cuatro días de caminar desde Pastaza. ¿Habría caminado usted similar distancia para defender a su familia, luchar por su vida y para evitar que su fuente de alimento sea devastada? Yo creo que sin duda lo habría hecho.

Norma, repito, es usted la única persona del país a la que estimo su hijo Rafael consideraría escuchar y asimilar la posibilidad de gobernar este país en atención al bien común y a la inclusión social, laica y feminista. Es cada vez más evidente la política patriarcal desde la que el Presidente, su hijo, manda en el país; es decir, no pone en duda los consejos que sus asesores y coidearios varones le proporcionan. A su nuera, Anne Malherbe jamás le hemos escuchado la voz por lo que nos es imposible saber su opinión sobre suerte del país que la ha acogido y en el que se crían sus hijas y su hijo. En las mujeres del partido político al que su hijo se debe ya no podemos confiar porque la descalificación pública y privada que Rafael apunta sobre ellas es de un nivel de vejación extremo; al punto que su autoestima se ve cada vez más vulnerada, en virtud de lo cual su fuerza para la lucha se va mermando día con día. Algo similar, con matices más afortunados, ha sucedido con su hija Pierina como funcionaria pública, a quien se le ha complicado armonizar la relación fraternal con el servicio a la comunidad. Con indignación he visto como Pierina se suma a la lista de mujeres, quienes por no contradecir el pensamiento un hombre, han sido infieles a sus propios principios.

Para terminar Norma, apelo a esa esencia femenina que habita indefectiblemente dentro de usted, esa esencia que no se manifiesta en su interior por ser madre ó esposa; late por el solo hecho de que, al menos una vez en su vida, habrá sentido la necesidad de desobedecer las órdenes que le impartía su padre ó el cura de su parroquia y que en su momento habrá considerado injustas, represoras y machistas. Por esa niña a quien alguna vez habrán etiquetado de “malcriada” le invito a dejar, por un día, de ser la madre del Presidente de la República y ser la única mujer que puede decirle, amorosamente y desde lo más profundo se su corazón: “La revolución será feminista, o no será”.

OPEN LETTER TO THE MOTHER OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ECUADOR.

Norma, I am writing in the first person without euphemisms in an effort to engage with you one horizontal approach, which does not fit the generational difference, regional, creed or any other.
