Ecuador: Gays inscribieron sus uniones de hecho en DNI.

La norma que les autoriza a registrar sus uniones en las cédulas de ciudadanía no implica un reconocimiento del matrimonio entre parejas del mismo sexo, pero ha sido calificado como un “gran paso” por los activistas GLBTI (gays, lesbianas, bisexuales, transexuales e intersexuales).

“Esto facilita a que las personas puedan contraer obligaciones”, comentó Gloria Larenas, coordinadora de Planificación del Registro Civil de Ecuador.

Cabe recordar que a fines de agosto, el presidente de Ecuador, Rafael Correa, ordenó ampliar el registro de las uniones de hecho entre homosexuales a sus documentos de identidad, tal como ocurre con las parejas heterosexuales. No obstante, Correa ha declarado que se opone al matrimonio entre personas del mismo sexo y a que estos adopten hijos.
