Nace la Federación Ecuatoriana de Organizaciones LGBT tras Diálogo Nacional
“Llevo más de 25 años como activista buscando una mejor vida para la comunidad en general. En un hecho que se da por primera vez en el Ecuador”.
En el marco del Diálogo por la Equidad y la Justicia Social que impulsa el Gobierno Nacional el pasado viernes 10 de septiembre de 2015 se registró la histórica conformación de la Federación Ecuatoriana de Organizaciones GLBT (Gays Lesbianas, Bisexuales y Transgéneros), la misma que acoge a casi 2.000 miembros de esta comunidad, aglutinados en 60 colectivos provenientes de todo el territorio ecuatoriano.
El hecho histórico es el resultado de los Diálogos Nacionales que impulsa el Gobierno de la Revolución Ciudadana y de la gestión del Ministerio de Justicia, Derechos Humanos y Cultos como entidad encargada de velar y hacer cumplir los derechos de todas y todos los ciudadanos.
Ledy Zúñiga Rocha, ministra de Justicia, quien participó del diálogo, indicó que “la inclusión social ahora es una forma de decidir y de gobernar desde la revolución (…)”.
“La equidad y la igualdad son la posibilidad de que todas y todos tengamos iguales condiciones para ejercer nuestros derechos. No debe existir la discriminación. Somos iguales, pero diferentes. La búsqueda de la equidad y la igualdad profundiza la democracia”, añadió la titular de Justicia, Derechos Humanos y Cultos.
La nueva Federación Ecuatoriana de Organizaciones LGBT se constituye como un ente que resulta de los acercamientos con el Gobierno Nacional, desde 2013, el cual se comprometió por medio del Primer Mandatario Eco. Rafael Correa Delgado, mediante acuerdo número 21525, a trabajar por garantizar el acceso a la educación, salud, empleo, justicia y ciudadanía plena a nivel general, para toda la población GLBT del Ecuador
Diane Rodríguez, activista del colectivo Silueta X de Guayaquil fue designada como presidenta nacional de la Federación Ecuatoriana de Organizaciones LGBT; Francisco Albornoz del colectivo GLBT Sierra Centro Tungurahua, es el vicepresidente; como secretaria a Ximena Lukas de la Fundación Estrellas de Jaramijó de Manabí y a Giovanny Jaramillo del colectivo Bolivarianos Diversos de Pichincha, como vocero oficial.
“Hemos visto la necesidad de conformar la actual federación, mediante la cual buscamos participar activamente en la construcción de política pública en conjunto con el Gobierno Nacional, en favor de toda la población GLBT del Ecuador”, enfatizó Diane Rodrígez, actual presidenta.
“Aglutinamos organizaciones que creen en el diálogo pacífico para generar política pública. No representamos intereses particulares ni políticamente desestabilizadores”, manifestó Rodríguez. En la conformación de la Federación intervinieron casi medio millar de representantes de la comunidad GLBTI. El Ministerio de Justicia entregará la personería jurídica a la actual federación.
“Si no se daban estos diálogos pues no se habría logrado este objetivo. Estamos buscando legitimidad. Esto no es de una persona, es algo real”, apuntó la actual presidenta de la federación.
De su lado Giovanny Jaramillo, portavoz de la federación, cataloga el hecho como un logro histórico. “Llevo más de 25 años como activista buscando una mejor vida para la comunidad en general. En un hecho que se da por primera vez en el Ecuador”, concluyó el activista.

Born the Ecuadorian Federation of LGBT Organizations after National Dialogue

«We saw the need to form the current federation, in which we actively participate in the construction of public policy in conjunction with the Government, on behalf of the entire GLBT population of Ecuador,» he said Diane Rodrígez, current president.
