Trans Men X

Community, identity, information and rights for trans men.

Trans Men X is a community initiative of Asociación Silueta X designed to connect trans men, share useful information, strengthen peer networks and create pathways to opportunities, services and rights protection.

You do not need to have a legal problem, a diagnosis or a formal request to join. You can simply be looking for information, community, activities or other people who understand some of the experiences you are navigating.

The WhatsApp community currently operates primarily in Spanish.

Visibility matters

Trans men can disappear inside broader LGBT+ statistics and programs.

When every LGBT+ population is treated as though it has the same experiences, specific needs can become invisible. Dedicated community spaces help identify barriers affecting trans men that may otherwise never reach organizations, services or decision-makers.

Be visible Create a recognizable space specifically for trans men.
Be connected Strengthen peer relationships instead of navigating every issue alone.
Be heard Help identify emerging barriers, concerns and priorities.
Access support Connect community needs with appropriate institutional responses.

More than a chat group

Sometimes access to a right begins with a conversation

People do not always arrive asking for a lawyer, psychologist or formal institution. They may arrive with a question, uncertainty about identity, a difficult experience or simply a desire to meet other people with similar experiences.

Information Rights, opportunities, activities and institutional pathways.
Community Connect with other trans men and strengthen peer networks.
Identification Recognize when a question or situation may require specialized assistance.
Referral Connect people with the appropriate Silueta X service or program.

There is no single way to be a man

Trans men, diverse masculinities and autonomy

Being a trans man does not require following one model of masculinity, body, gender expression or transition.

Trans Men X promotes information and community connections grounded in autonomy, respect for different transition experiences and recognition of the diversity that exists within trans masculinities themselves.

Our principle

Your identity does not need to look like another trans man’s experience in order to be valid.

For funders, donors and international partners

Funding community means strengthening the infrastructure that makes rights accessible.

A community network may look simple from the outside. Its value lies in what it makes possible: continuous contact, relevant information, identification of emerging barriers, access to specialized services and trust before someone has to navigate a more complex institutional process.

Access Maintain a low-barrier entry point into the Silueta X support ecosystem.
Trust Make first contact easier before someone is ready for formal services.
Referral Connect emerging needs with legal, mental-health, health and mobility resources.
Participation Hear directly from trans men about changing needs, barriers and opportunities.

Why population-specific funding matters

“LGBT+” is not one experience

Broad LGBT+ programming remains important, but it can miss barriers that affect specific populations differently. Trans men may face distinct questions involving legal identity, healthcare, body autonomy, family relationships, workplace discrimination, mental health and social visibility.

Population-specific community infrastructure helps those experiences become visible rather than absorbed into a general category.
