More than a chat group

A community network can become the first doorway to a right.

People do not always approach an organization asking for a lawyer, psychologist or formal social service. Often they first need information, a trusted reference, a safe connection or someone who understands the context they are navigating.

Information Share opportunities, activities, service pathways and useful community information.
Connection Strengthen peer relationships among people who share identities and lived experiences.
Early identification Recognize when a community concern may require specialized intervention.
Referral Connect people with Silueta X technical services when their situation requires more than information.

For donors, funders and international partners

Funding community means keeping the first doorway to rights open.

Not every rights violation begins with a formal complaint. Community infrastructure helps people access information early, recognize risks, build trust and connect with professional responses before exclusion, violence or vulnerability becomes more severe.

Access Create low-barrier entry points for people who may not yet know which formal service they need.
Prevention Share reliable information before discrimination, health concerns or violence escalate.
Referral Connect community needs with legal, psychological, health and social-support pathways.
Participation Keep channels open for trans women themselves to identify priorities, concerns and opportunities.

Why trans-led infrastructure matters

Services become more accessible when community is part of the infrastructure

People are more likely to ask questions, seek information and disclose concerns when the first point of contact feels understandable and connected to their lived reality.

Peer proximity

Community spaces can reduce the distance between a person experiencing a problem and the institution capable of responding.

Trust before bureaucracy

A simple conversation may be the first step before someone feels ready to enter a formal legal, psychological or social-service pathway.

Community intelligence

Ongoing contact also helps organizations understand emerging needs, misinformation, barriers and opportunities affecting the population they serve.

Community starts with connection

If you are a trans woman, you do not need to arrive with every answer.

You can begin simply by joining the community, reading, learning about activities and connecting with others.

The WhatsApp group is primarily Spanish-speaking and serves as an informational and community space. It does not replace legal, medical, psychological or emergency services.

Support trans-led infrastructure

Help us keep the doors between community and rights open

Your support strengthens Asociación Silueta X’s community and human-rights infrastructure, helping maintain information channels, documentation, specialized referral pathways, advocacy and access to rights.

A WhatsApp group may look simple. The network behind it is what turns a message into information, a referral, a documented case or an opportunity.
