Tech & AI X

Technology & Artificial Intelligence for Social Impact Program

A technical experimentation space within Asociación Silueta X where real-world needs identified in communities are translated into digital products, data systems, automation, artificial intelligence and civic-tech tools that serve communities and advance rights.

Technology is not the project. The change it creates in people’s lives is the project.

// Tech & AI X · social_impact_pipeline

input = community_need;

process = listen + map + data + design;

prototype = ai | automation | civic_tech | data;

guardrails = privacy + security + rights;

output = impact_measured_in_people;

This is not general volunteering. It is Tech Labs X’s technical experimentation front for students and professionals who can design, build, test and improve technology with social responsibility.

A strategic distinction

Tech Labs X manages talent. Tech & AI X turns social challenges into technology.

Tech Labs X is Silueta X’s broader technology and talent hub, bringing together university interns, volunteers, formal activism, socially responsible professionals, automation and technology operations. Tech & AI X operates as a specialized satellite program: its purpose is not to manage volunteering, but to develop and test technology and artificial-intelligence solutions.

People who want to contribute join through Tech Labs X. Funders, universities and technical partners can understand Tech & AI X as the organization’s applied technology-innovation capacity .

Methodology · Territory-to-Tech

First we understand the problem. Then we choose the technology.

Tech & AI X starts from community, legal, health, research, human-mobility, economic-inclusion and civic processes that already exist on the ground. The lab translates those processes into workflows, data and digital prototypes without assuming that every need requires artificial intelligence.

01 · LISTENCommunity challenge

We identify real points of friction with communities, technical teams and end users.

02 · MAPProcess and stakeholders

We document decisions, timelines, data, risks, bottlenecks and points where intervention can add value.

03 · STRUCTUREData and requirements

We define what data are necessary, which data are sensitive and what outcome the system must produce.

04 · DESIGNMinimum viable product

We choose among software, data, maps, automation, AI, low-code/no-code tools or a combination of approaches.

05 · TESTReal-world use

We test with users and capture errors, access barriers and unintended effects.

06 · PROTECTPrivacy and security

We apply data minimization, access controls, risk assessment and human oversight.

07 · DEPLOYUseful pilot

We implement at small scale, document how it works and train the people who will use it.

08 · MEASUREImpact and learning

We measure time saved, access, safety, quality, reach and meaningful change for communities.

Experimentation areas

We do not build technology to showcase technology. We build tools to solve something concrete.

Talent we are looking for

We need people who can build, not only people who are interested in technology

Participation is managed through Tech Labs X. We prioritize technical profiles that can learn, document, work with communities and take responsibility for security, privacy and quality.

Students and interns

Learn by building for real-world challenges

We welcome students in Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, UX/UI, GIS and related fields.

The expected contribution is not to “help with anything.” It is to join clearly defined problems, documentation, prototyping and testing with technical and community guidance.

Socially responsible professionals

Expertise that would normally be out of reach for a community organization

Engineering, AI/ML, data engineering, cloud, DevOps, security, architecture, product, UX, data governance, GIS, automation, accessibility and technology ethics.

Professional contributions may focus on architecture design, technical review, mentoring, auditing, prototyping or solving a clearly scoped technical challenge.

Responsible AI & Data Governance

Just because a technology can be built does not mean it should be built

Silueta X works with sensitive data related to health, gender identity, sexual orientation, violence, migration and other protected characteristics. Technology experimentation therefore requires an explicit layer of governance, safeguards and accountability.

Privacy by designcollect only what is necessary and restrict access.
Human oversightAI supports decisions; it does not replace human judgment in high-impact contexts.
Bias and harmassess who a system could exclude, label, misclassify or harm.
Securityprotect credentials, data, infrastructure and traceability.
Explainabilitydocument what a system is for, what it does not do and where it can fail.
Impact before noveltya simple automation may be better than unnecessary AI.

Silueta X’s institutional data-protection policy establishes principles of lawfulness, transparency, purpose limitation, data minimization, security and accountability, including enhanced protection for sensitive data such as sexual orientation, gender identity and health information.

Technology as a fundable organizational capacity

Technology philanthropy looks for more than “having a website”

Current international funding programs are supporting organizations able to combine local knowledge with technology products, responsible AI, data, civic tech and measurable outcomes. Tech & AI X makes that capacity visible within Silueta X.

Measurable impact

Technology connected to a real need

Define the people served, the problem, the expected change, access and outcomes; do not start with a tool and then search for somewhere to use it.

Technical capacity

A team that can prototype and operate

Technical talent, architecture, data, product expertise and partnerships that can move an idea toward a verifiable solution.

Responsible governance

AI and data with guardrails

Privacy, security, human oversight, risk management and assessment of impacts on communities facing vulnerability or exclusion.
