BID (Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo) INCLUSIÓN E IDENTIDAD EN AMÉRICA LATINA Y EL CARIBE. LA AGENDA PENDIENTE PARA EL DESARROLLO ECONÓMICO DE TODOS

Una de cada 5 personas en América Latina se siente discriminada por algún motivo, según el último Latinobarómetro. Lo que no sabemos es por qué.

Con esta pregunta en mente, el BID convocó a periodistas de investigación, analistas socio-políticos, investigadores en el área de las ciencias sociales, invitándolos a analizar las barreras visibles e invisibles que dificultan el desarrollo socio-económico de las comunidades afrodescendientes, los pueblos indígenas y las comunidades lesbianas, gays, bisexuales y transexuales (LGBT).

La respuesta al llamado fue entusiasta y los productos recibidos muy variados. Son reportajes, papers, entrevistas y vídeos que dan un diagnóstico sobre la situación, ilustran lo que se está aprendiendo con ejemplos de buenas prácticas, apuntan dónde se necesita avanzar –ya sea con investigación o acción- y documentan cambios en la política.

En estas últimas décadas América Latina y el Caribe ha logrado grandes avances. Sin embargo, todavía hay una agenda pendiente con algunos grupos que no se han beneficiado de estos progresos. Esta agenda pendiente es la eliminación de barreras que les permita tener igualdad de oportunidades para su pleno desarrollo social y económico. IDB ( Interamerican Development Bank ) INCLUSION AND IDENTITY IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN . THE ONGOING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGENDA FOR EVERYONE

One in 5 people in Latin America feel discriminated against for any reason, according to the latest Latinobarometer . What we do not know is why.

With this question in mind , the Bank convened investigative journalists , socio- political analysts , researchers in the field of social sciences , inviting them to analyze the visible and invisible barriers to socio- economic development of black communities, peoples indigenous and lesbian, gay , bisexual and transgender community (LGBT ) .

The enthusiastic response to the call was received and the products varied. Are reports, papers , interviews and videos that give a diagnosis of the situation , illustrate what is being learned with examples of good practice point where further progress is needed – either research or action – and document changes in policy .
