It is those little letters, the “M” or “F” as that bother in the document. And the proposal is that there are gender recorded. But that is another matter. Chany is talking about his rebirth. Because changing identity is reborn. “You become someone new, because you must change your life, because at any moment cease to exist, then you’re someone else, but it is satisfactory to achieve that,” he says.
After obtained the document Chany sent press banks to register their new identity.
He went looking for his birth certificate so that even in that document recorded with the woman’s name. “It’s a long process, but when you already achieved is very nice,” he says.
In Manta there are 15 transsexuals who have taken the same course of Chany. They already have their ballots with the names of women.
These changes began after a reform in the Civil Registration Act and Identification.

Because the card is a first step that people recognize you as a woman is what follows, he adds.
Is that when going to banks and placed in the row of women, there are guards who ask to withdraw from there sometimes. “It’s at that moment when I show them my card and tell them I have a woman’s name and should treat it as such. People are surprised, because I think few people know that, “he says.
