Nelson Zavala no asistirá a debate con candidata trans

La comunidad de Gays, Lesbianas, Bisexuales y Transexuales (GLBT) hizo una invitación pública vía correo electrónico a un debate entre Nelson Zavala, presidenciable del Partido Roldosista Ecuatoriano (PRE), y Diane Rodríguez, candidata trans a la Asamblea con Ruptura.

La tarde de este miércoles 6 de febrero circuló el mail. Zavala, que cumple una agenda hoy en Machala, expresó que no había recibido la invitación. “Yo no voy a debatir con los GLBT porque mi postura es bíblica, es clara y no hay nada que debatir pero si puedo recibirlos con mucho agrado para con el mismo respeto escucharlos”, respondió el pastor evangélico frente a la convocatoria.

Agregó que es imposible que asista porque tiene una “agenda apretada”. El debate estaba programado para el viernes 8 de febrero a las 18:00 en el Centro Comunitario Equidad, ubicado en el centro de Guayaquil. Ese día, Zavala tiene programado visitar Esmeraldas con su propuesta ‘vivienda productiva’. “No voy a entrar en peleas que lo que van a hacer es erosionar y distraer las verdaderas propuestas que el país necesita”, dijo el candidato.

Sin embargo, sostuvo que sí le gustaría recibir a un grupo de representantes GLBT para “exponerles que si ellos creen que estamos en una sociedad de derechos, que mi derecho es libertad de culto y de expresión, que lo respeten, que recuerden que ellos son una minoría y que en un Régimen democrático la mayoría manda”.
