Diane Rodríguez, la trans candidata a asambleísta, votó en una junta de varones

“¡Violaron mi intimidad sexual!”

Llegó al recinto electoral escoltada por miembros de la comunidad GLBTI y de su pareja.

A las 12:00 de ayer,  Diane Rodríguez Zambrano, la candidata a asambleísta por Ruptura, listas 25, distrito 3, sufragó en  Durán, en la junta 152 de varones, en la escuela Pedro Menéndez, de la ciudadela Ferroviaria 1. Llegó en compañía de su pareja y miembros de la comunidad Glbti.

La transexual lucía su larga cabellera negra y apenas se había maquillado. Sus zapatos de tacos muy altos hacían juego con el vestido café, abotonado adelante.

Dentro del plantel donde le tocaba sufragar se abrió camino entre la multitud que luchaba por avanzar.  Diane lo hizo agarrada del hombro de su enamorado, con quien tiene seis años de convivencia. Óscar Ugarte y Gonzalo Abarca, conocidos activistas Glbti, los escoltaban.

“No he dormido bien pensando en este día. Con mi pareja nos levantamos temprano, desayunamos y vimos las noticias y luego salimos a cumplir con este deber cívico”, comentó sonriente.

“Honestamente lo que valoro de este proceso electoral es el posesionamiento del tema Glbti, porque dentro del ámbito político es la primera vez que se nos toma en cuenta para que participemos. Si entro, de seguro que vamos a realizar una fiesta, sé que es en la casa de Óscar Ugarte”, señaló Rodríguez.

A su paso por el recinto electoral,  Diane captó la atención de las  personas que en ese momento intentaban sufragar en las diferentes juntas ubicadas en la escuela Pedro Menéndez.

Cuando  estuvo frente a la mesa 152, donde le tocaba votar, el semblante de la candidata por la  lista 25 cambió al ver que tenía que hacer fila junto a los  varones;  era la única con aspecto femenino.  “Aquí, parada entre los varones, me siento discriminada, estoy pasando una humillación”, dijo avergonzada.

“A pesar que en el Registro Civil hice el cambio de mis nombres masculinos a femeninos, todavía tengo que sufragar en juntas de varones. Es una violación a mi intimidad sexual. Esta es una de las tantas cosas que están mal, pero que  de llegar a la Asamblea la haré cambiar para que mis compañeras tampoco pasen estos malos momentos”, expresó mientras esperaba su turno para sufragar.
Cuando le tocó votar, los miembros de la mesa le solicitaron su cédula de identidad y le entregaron las papeletas. Después de cumplir con la patria, Diane saludó a la gente que la miraba y finalmente metió los papeles en las urnas. Los espectadores le mostraron apoyo con una sonrisa.

“Espero el resultado que sea. Realmente apoyo a mi novia, porque ella es una persona excelente en lo que se propone. Llevamos seis años y la conozco muy bien.  Siempre salimos juntos a la calle, pero por primera vez en estas circunstancias”, dijo el novio, quien prefirió no identificarse.

“ME LLENA DE ORGULLO”
“Con mucho orgullo acompaño a Diane,  también fui candidato para la Asamblea Constituyente, ese fue el primer paso que dimos, pero ahora,  a través de nuestra compañera trans, la integración está  madurando, esto me llena de orgullo porque es un paso adelante”, dijo Óscar Ugarte.

APOYO POPULAR
Algunas personas que observaron la llegada de la trans le mostraron simpatía. “No me asombro, porque se supone que somos un país cuyos habitantes tenemos una mentalidad más abierta y que tenemos que aceptar la situación como normal”, dijo Santiago Villagómez, quien también hacía fila.
“Pienso que la chica trans está muy guapa y debería sufragar en una fila de mujeres. Además, no hay nada de malo que ande con su novio, estamos en un país democrático”, manifestó Luisa Rodríguez.
“Tiene que ser algo bochornoso para ella andar con su pareja y votar en fila de hombres”, dijo Ángel Molina, sufragante.
