Quito (Pichincha).- Para la activista GLBT, Diane Rodríguez, son indudables los avances que las minorías sexuales han logrado con la Revolución Ciudadana. Así lo explicó durante una entrevista con El Ciudadano. La activista expresó que es indiscutible que hay avances en este proceso político. “Eso no lo vamos a negar, es como querer tapar el sol con un  dedo”, dijo, acotando –sin embargo- que la Constitución del Ecuador es muy rica en torno a Derechos Humanos, pero hay ciertas cosas que lamentablemente no se cumplen.

Deseamos mantener una reunión con el Presidente para aclarar y analizar estos temas, subrayó Rodríguez. La activista aseguró que vio mucha apertura por parte del Primer Mandatario.  

“Por lo menos cierto grupo de la comunidad GLBT esperamos llegar al diálogo y no ese diálogo combativo que se ve en algunos momentos, más bien a uno en el cual podamos construir y obviamente crear un consenso”.

Aclaró que, en la Asamblea Nacional, el debate se enmarca en lo concerniente a la Ley de Identidad de Género. “No se encuentra el matrimonio igualitario, ni la adopción”, dijo, al tiempo de definir que algunos grupos de ultra derecha y pro vida confundieron toda la temática con el matrimonio igualitario.

De igual forma rechazó el papel de ciertos medios de comunicación, que –a su juicio- han tratado el tema de forma combativa. “Algunos medios aparentan la situación de una forma incorrecta. Nosotros queremos un diálogo amigable y entendemos que el proceso que estamos viviendo es histórico”, puntualizó.

Tras participar de la Ceremonia de Relevo de Guardia de este lunes 27 de Mayo, en el Palacio de Carondelet, como invitada, Rodríguez explicó que se trata de una experiencia que pocos activistas la pueden vivir. “Me parece una actividad muy cívica en la que no se participa frecuentemente, me siento con un sentimiento muy positivo”, dijo. GLBT Activist inclusion recognizes the progress made by the National Government

Quito (Pichincha). – For GLBT activist, Diane Rodriguez, are undoubted progress that sexual minorities have achieved with the Citizen Revolution.

 This was explained during an interview with The Citizen. The activist said that it is indisputable that there is progress in the political process. «That’s not going to deny, is like trying to cover the sun with a finger,» he said, noting, however, that the Constitution of Ecuador is rich around Human Rights, but there are certain things that unfortunately are not met.

We have a meeting with the President to clarify and discuss these issues, said Rodriguez. The activist said he saw a lot of Opening by the president.

«At least some GLBT community group hope to reach that dialogue rather combative dialogue is at times rather one in which we can build and obviously build consensus.»

He explained that, in the National Assembly, the debate is framed with regard to the Law on Gender Identity. «No marriage is equal, nor the adoption,» he said, while defining some right-wing groups and pro-life confused with the whole gay marriage issue.

Similarly turned down the role of certain media, which, in his opinion, have addressed the issue in a combative way. «Some media appear the situation the wrong way. We want a friendly dialogue and understand that the process we are experiencing is historic, «he said.

After participating in the Changing of Guard Ceremony on Monday May 27, at the Palacio de Carondelet, as a guest, Rodriguez explained that it is an experience few can live the activists. «It seems a very civic activity in which there is a frequent, I feel very positive feeling,» he said.
