Sexo vs Género

Aunque somos una sociedad que crece progresivamente en materia de derechos, no podemos desconocer que falta mucho por andar, y que el accionar de grupos identificados con las minorías ha jugado un papel preponderante en América latina.
La Asociación Silueta X, representada por Diane Rodríguez, ha planteado el debate dentro de la reforma a la ley de Registro Civil, para que se permita incluir el género en vez del sexo en la cédula, ya que esto les permitiría acceder y ejercer  a varios derechos que han sido restringidos porque el documento actual es disociativo entre su sexo y su identidad de género.
La campaña, #migéneroenmicédula  pretende alcanzar el apoyo legislativo para que se reconozca el género como identidad, ya que la única persona que sabe de su género es ella misma, no hay indicaciones externas que prueben o refuten el género interno, dejando en claro que no es una cuestión física sino innata.
 Pero no es menos cierto que la lucha se ejecuta en diversos campos como: el “fundamentalismo religioso”, que acentúa el discurso lacerante a los estereotipos, fomentando la violencia de género y el rechazo a quien haya optado por una orientación sexual distinta.
La influencia religiosa en los gobiernos no debería ser determinante al momento de legislar, pero lejos de aquello, ejercen toda la presión posible para evitar que Ecuador se alinie al auge de proyectos humanitarios que nos lleven a respetar la unicidad en la diversidad.
El que la revista Expresiones ponga en la portada a tres chicas transexuales y una de ellas forme parte de un reality shows en un canal de señal abierta ¿son signos claros y tangibles de inclusión y respeto hacia las minorías, o es solo novelería?
Pero mientras esto sucede en Ecuador, los Parlamentos de Argentina y Uruguay aprobaron la Ley de Matrimonio Igualitario en el 2010 y 2013 respectivamente, lo que muestra claramente que la única forma de convivir en el mundo es dentro del marco del respeto.
Como miembros de la sociedad, tenemos el reto de educar a nuestros niños para que se rompan los eslabones de la discriminación, prejuicios, y rechazo social.
