Realidad de la comunidad GLBTI constará en las estadísticas.

Dos investigaciones apuntan a cuantificar la realidad de la comunidad GLBTI en el país. La una la impulsan el Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos (INEC) y la Comisión de Transición hacia el Consejo de las Mujeres, y colectivos que representan a esa población.

El primer trabajo busca identificar sus condiciones de vida en salud, educación, justicia, violencia, discriminación, derechos humanos y participación ciudadana.

Para ello se realizaron encuestas a integrantes de la comunidad, indica la web del INEC. El portal informa que las entrevistas fueron entre el 15 de noviembre del 2012 y el pasado 15 de enero en Guayas, Los Ríos, Manabí, Santa Elena, El Oro y Pichincha.

Una fuente del departamento de comunicación del INEC confirmó que el trabajo está en su fase final y que los resultados serán presentados en noviembre próximo.

La otra investigación la realizan agrupaciones GLBTI, entre ellas Silueta X. Su presidenta, Diane Rodríguez, afirma que el trabajo busca exponer cuál es el estado del acceso a la justicia y derechos humanos.

Comenta que para ello se recoge información sobre denuncias presentadas en la Fiscalía, Defensoría del Pueblo y comisarías.

Los resultados también se prevén para noviembre.

Rodríguez expresa su anhelo porque este estudio permita visibilizar ciertas problemáticas del sector.

The first job is to identify the conditions of life in health, education, justice, violence, discrimination, human rights and citizen participation.

A source at the INEC communications department confirmed that the work is in its final stages and the results will be presented in November.

Other research is carried GLBTI groups, including Silueta X. Its president, Diane Rodriguez, says the work seeks to expose what the state of access to justice and human rights.

It says that collects information on complaints filed with the Attorney General, Ombudsman and police stations.

The results are also planned for November.

Rodriguez expressed his desire that this study will make visible certain problems of the sector.
